ABOUT

WOLGC HAND OF COMPASSION aims to reduce food insecurity by diverting, repurposing and redistributing surplus food – prepared and perishable – that is still wholesome and nutritious.

HELPING HANDS

We encourage and welcome anyone or Company who would like to help the WOLGC HAND OF COMPASSION team to make a difference in the lives of the poor and less privilege in South Africa! We also welcome local committees and international volunteer who are passioned to make the dream of WOLGC HAND OF COMPASSION go through all the committees in South Africa.

We facilitate collection of potential food waste and effect distribution to the WOLGC Hand of Compassion Teams

Nutrition

Good nutrition is key to development.  We aim to improve nutrition for people for whom wholesome food in not easily accessible.

Meal provision and value-added products

We transform produce which would otherwise have gone to landfill into delicious, nutritious meals and value-added products.

Fundraising events

We host Odd Plate Dinners using discarded produce and aim to open a pay-as-you-feel restaurant.

Grocery Store, catering service and box scheme

We aim to establish a pay-as-you-feel grocery store and deli as well as a Conscious Catering service and Veggie Box Scheme.
